Sara Monaco

Sara Monaco, Ed.D., has been the Assistant Superintendent of Smithfield Public Schools since 2017. She previously worked as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and the Coordinator of RTI and Federal Programs in Warwick, RI. Prior to her time in administration, she served as a special educator and reading specialist in Smithfield, RI. Her primary responsibilities include data analysis, professional development, strategic planning, curriculum implementation, and assessment development. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Providence College. Monaco earned her Doctor of Education in K-12 Curriculum Leadership from Northeastern University, a Master of Education in Literacy from Providence College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from Providence College.
