Natasha Strassfeld

Natasha Strassfeld (natasha.strassfeld@utexas.edu) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Law and her Ph.D. in Special Education from the Pennsylvania State University. She has a courtesy appointment at the LBJ School of Public Affairs. Her research examines parent involvement and service delivery within the special education and accommodations processes, disproportionality monitoring and legal compliance within special education, and special education and related transition service delivery for youth transitioning from the juvenile justice system back to K-12 public school contexts. Her work has been supported by a range of federal and foundation grant sources including the U.S. Department of Education, the Spencer Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In addition, she has served as a committee member for multiple National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committees.
