Megan Conklin received her Masters in Teaching in 2001 from The Evergreen State College and her National Board Certification in 2005. She has been working in education as a classroom teacher, instructional specialist, district level leader, preschool/childcare teacher and substitute ever since. After mentoring new teachers and coaching veteran teachers in classrooms for ten years, Megan is now intentionally focused on supporting substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and other marginalized groups in education. Her project, SubCommunities: Professional Learning Spaces for Substitute Educators, is being supported and funded through the Washington Education Association and Washington State’s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
