Constance Parham

Connie has dedicated her career to improving educational outcomes for students in Washington, DC — first as a middle school math teacher and now as the Director of Innovation & Design for DC Public Schools. At DCPS, she supported the creation, launch, and expansion of the district’s Design Lab, which provides forward-thinking school communities with the resources, support, and time they need to boldly redesign the student experience. She is motivated by the power of community-driven redesign to generate solutions truly aligned to students’ interests and needs. Connie was a 2014 CityBridge Education Innovation Fellow, where she had the opportunity to visit innovative schools across the country and apply design thinking practices to prototype, test, and scale a personalized learning model in her math classroom. She received a Bachelor’s from Georgetown University and an MAT from American University. She has a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, as well as a Certificate in Collaborative Leadership from IDEO.
