Annette Ledesma, a dedicated school leader with 28 years of diverse experience, has significantly impacted her community through roles ranging from teacher and coach to Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and site administrator in both traditional and alternative high school settings. Her journey is defined by her unwavering commitment to student advocacy and the introduction of transformative educational practices.
Guided by her district’s mantra of doing “whatever it takes” for student success and the belief that “demographics do not determine destiny”, Annette currently excels as the site administrator at Frontier High School, part of the Whittier Union High School District in Southern California. Here, she leads a team dedicated to guiding credit-deficient students towards academic success and high school diplomas. Her effective leadership at Frontier is set to be recognized when the school is named a Model Continuation High School by the California Department of Education in April 2024. She actively engages with professional associations, including ACSA, ACSD, NewSchools Equity Advisory Board, LeveragEd and CCEA+ where she was just appointed Regional Advisor for Southern CA Region 2. Annette has been married to Alex for 28 years and enjoys spending time with her 3 adult children and taking walks with her dog, a German Short-haired Pointer named Whiskey.
